This year, at the 17th annual POWER SHOWCASE at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, not only did the fraternity welcome two more to its ranks, but one of them raised the bar to an all-time high.

The 2024 POWER SHOWCASE Rookie’s Classic ended in a thrilling 14-14 tie after 10 innings at Globe Life Field. Sean Simon, who later won the 13U World Championship, sparked the National League with an inside-the-park home run and earned the Dove Tail Bats Offensive MVP. Both teams traded leads in a back-and-forth slugfest featuring standout performances from players like Alfonso Longoria, who earned Pro Sway MVP honors, and Ryan Schnider, who delivered clutch hits and also competed in the 12U finals.

Gabriel Coltman became the 2024 POWER SHOWCASE World Champion with a 518-foot home run that also earned him a spot in the elite 500 Foot HR Club. In a thrilling final at Globe Life Field, Coltman edged out three-time defending champ Hogan Nelson and Underclassman winner Cooper Holmes with 12 total home runs. Coltman's championship run was powered by meticulous preparation using his high school’s Hit Trax system and a strong mindset. He returns to Oregon as one of the state’s most decorated amateur players, proud to represent the Northwest on the national stage.

Dunn Smith earned the Dove Tail Bats Offensive MVP at the 2024 POWER SHOWCASE Babe Ruth Classic for his 2-for-2 performance, including a double, two RBI, a run, and a stolen base, helping the AL team to an 8-5 win. Jayson Sapp also stood out with three stolen bases and the game’s first and last runs, earning the ProSway MVP. The AL built and maintained their lead through consistent offense and key hits, while the NL rallied late with a two-RBI triple from Zaxton Aldridge, who also received MVP honors.

Rylee Sumner, a seventh-grader from Melbourne, Florida, dominated the 2024 POWER SHOWCASE 12U championship at Globe Life Field by hitting 17 home runs in the final round and finishing with a total of 41 homers overall. His impressive performance, which included leading the preliminary round with 24 long balls, secured his title as World Champion, overcoming a strong challenge from finalist Ryan Schnider.

Sean Simon of Avondale, Arizona, won the 13U POWER SHOWCASE World Championship by hitting 16 home runs in the final round at Globe Life Field. Batting last among the three finalists, Simon clinched the title with his eighth homer and finished the event with 28 total home runs, including 12 in the prelims. After falling short the previous year, Simon redeemed himself and credited playing in the Rookies Classic earlier in the day—and earning MVP honors there—as key to his preparation and success.

Jacob “Cubby” Stogsdill, a freshman from San Antonio, won the 14U World Championship at the POWER SHOWCASE held at Globe Life Field. Returning for his second year, Stogsdill hit 13 home runs, securing the win while batting second—a rare feat. His performance included a streak of nine homers with only seven outs and a final stretch of four in a row. He credited playing earlier in the Babe Ruth Classic game for helping him stay loose and confident.

Austin Brown of Heber City, Utah, captured the 2024 POWER SHOWCASE 15U World Championship in dramatic fashion with a walk-off home run during a third-round swing-off against Connecticut’s Liam Zeller. After finishing second the past two years, Brown tied the finals with a 438-foot blast before sealing the win with a 386-foot homer. Zeller and Brown traded big shots in a tense triple-overtime showdown, but Brown finally came out on top, earning a long-awaited title and putting Utah baseball in the spotlight.

The National League edged out the American League 5-3 in the 2024 POWER SHOWCASE High School Classic, thanks to a pair of ninth-inning runs led by MVP Trevor Hoff. Hoff went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI, and scored twice—including the winning run. Chris Fitts added an RBI double and earned ProSway MVP honors. Japanese pitcher Hiroto Kimura impressed with nine strikeouts in three innings. Despite a strong showing from AL pitchers, including Kullin Tavarez’s eight Ks, the NL sealed the win behind clutch hitting and a standout relief performance by Dillon Stewart.

Cooper Holmes has his best stuff when the stakes are the highest. The junior from Keatchie, Louisiana, worked his way back to the POWER SHOWCASE finals for the third straight time, only to face his toughest challenge of them all. Yet as the pressure intensified and the challenge became even harder, he was at his finest.

The 2024 POWER SHOWCASE preliminaries at Globe Life Field featured record-breaking performances, with Texas’ Easton Autrey smashing a historic 544-foot homer and Oregon’s Gabriel Coltman launching 15 bombs to advance. Coltman will face three-time champion Hogan Nelson, who hit 17 home runs in his round. Utah’s Austin Brown also impressed with a 0.13 second time to contact and 13 total home runs to reach his third straight 15U final. Other standout performers included 12U leader Rylee Sumner, 13U’s Sean Simon, and 14U’s Cooper Crabtree and IJ Garza, as players from across age groups battled for championship spots.
