The most prestigious honor, the POWER SHOWCASE Home Run Derby World Champion award, recognized the player who advanced to the Finals and hit the most Home Runs during this round.

There are six age divisions/categories as well as an opportunity for the Featured (graduating seniors '26) Champion and Underclass Champion ('27/'28) to be crowned the OVERALL World Champion. This is decided by the champion who hit the most home runs during the finals.

POWER SHOWCASE - FEATURED ('26 Grad) World Champion
Awarded to the player who hits the most home runs during the championship round of the POWER SHOWCASE Home Run Derby, representing the pinnacle of power-hitting excellence in the event.

POWER SHOWCASE - UNDERCLASS ('27/'28 Grads) Champion
Presented to the top-performing underclassman in the competition, recognizing their exceptional talent and solidifying their spot in the sport of baseball.

POWER SHOWCASE - 15U, 14U, 13U & 12U
Awarded to the best player in their division, highlighting their advanced skills, athleticism, and ability to compete/succeed on a stage of this magnitude!

The POWER SHOWCASE Home Run Derby Awards are presented to the participants who excel in various categories during the POWER SHOWCASE Home Run Derby.

Longest Distance of a Home Run
Presented to the participant who hits the longest distance Home Run during any round of the POWER SHOWCASE Home Run Derby.

Most Consecutive Home Runs
Presented to the participant who hits the most consecutive Home Runs during any round of the POWER SHOWCASE Home Run Derby.

Most Home Runs during the Preliminary Round
Presented to the participant who hits the most Home Runs during the POWER SHOWCASE’s Preliminary Round.

There is no question that Babe Ruth is baseball’s most well-known and revered Power Hitter. The POWER SHOWCASE has teamed with Linda Ruth Tosetti, the Babe’s granddaughter, to present two prestigious awards.

Spirit of Babe Ruth Award
Established during the 2010 Fourth Annual POWER SHOWCASE Home Run Derby, the “Spirit of Babe Ruth Award” is presented in honor of Babe Ruth, the only athlete to have the ability to be a six-tool player: hitting, hitting for power, speed, fielding, throwing, and pitching. This award is given to the POWER SHOWCASE participant who exemplifies ability, strength, leadership, passion, and respect for the game of Baseball.

Colossus of Clout Award
The “Colossus of Clout” award, named after the moniker given to the 40 inch, 54 ounce bat Babe Ruth used in game play from 1916 to 1922, is a replica of the Babe’s bat. This award is presented to the player who hits the furthest Home Run overall.

About Dove Tail Bat
At Dove Tail Bat Company, we have been in the wood industry for over 40 years. It began when we developed and grew DoveTail Cabinetry and Designed Living, our custom-cabinetry and kitchen showroom business. During that time our youngest son played baseball in high school and college, and would complain about the quality of the bats he was using. The first bat Paul made, he used maple stock planned for table legs. That was in 2005. Over the next 8 years we sold our bats to our sons college and professional teammates as well as adult mens leagues around the US. 2014 was Dove Tail Bats debut year in the big leagues followed by 2015 when the Kansas City won the World Series in which 70% of the runs were scored with a Dove Tail Bat. Most recently in 2019, Pete Alonso set the current Rookie Home Run record hitting 53 home runs with a Dove Tail Bat and was named the Rookie of the Year as a result of this.

We have gone from producing baseball bats as a side gig to selling to some of the biggest names in pro ball. We are one of a limited number of bat suppliers certified to sell to pro players. We produced approx. 30,000 bats in 2017 and have had the privilege of having three baseball bats entered into the Hall of Fame.

Our Journey
It began in 2016 when our founder, Jake Simmons, in his senior year in college, was hitting in the batting cage with a brand new pair of your everyday, ordinary, brand-name, expensive pair of batting gloves. Before he even finished his first round of batting practice, his batting gloves ripped! Disappointed in the quality of his gloves, he was determined and passionate to make a better batting glove that was dependable and long-lasting.

Growing up Jake used work gloves for practice for the simple reason of their long-lasting durability. Not only were the work gloves more comfortable the gloves were less expensive and showed less wear and tear over time. In finalizing his plans to actually come up with a design, his thoughts were, “Why not incorporate the work glove material into a more aesthetically pleasing batting glove made of durable leather comparable to a work glove- raise and deliver the expectations for the customers looking at: quality, durability, dependability, affordability, and comfort." After many hours of research and strategic planning with teammates a better batting glove was introduced.
